I’ve never booked a trip on my own before. Would I be able to do it on my own. I have no issues with making restaurants reservations but everything else worries me.

    Hey there Sarah,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question! It's always a pleasure to get to answer questions from a fellow Arizonan.

I'm happy to share that you absolutely can book a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth all on your own. I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort my whole life, and I would say that it's never been easier to plan the details for upcoming trips.

I would suggest starting on the Disneyland Resort website through the "Build Your Vacation" tool near the top of the page. Simply input the dates you'd like to visit, select your party size and hit "Find Rates."

This will take you to a page listing out some different room options at the hotels of the Disneyland Resort. If you're unsure which of the three to choose, I'd recommend the Disneyland Hotel! It's conveniently located within walking distance of the parks, has the unique and original Disney Magic feel, and is typically a bit less expensive than Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

After selecting your hotel details, you'll next be walked through purchasing your theme park tickets and selecting the dates of your visit to secure your theme park reservations. As part of the ticket purchase process, you'll also be asking if you'd like to add the Park Hopper option, Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and/or a parking voucher.

If it fits your budget, then I would highly recommend both the Park Hopper and Lightning Lane Multi Pass! With the Park Hopper, you'll start your day in one park but then can hop in between both parks starting at 11:00 AM each day. Lightning Lane Multi Pass offers a few perks, but the most notable is the option to utilize the Lightning Lane on some of the most popular attractions - just select a return time to access the line and return during the window of time. Note that you can book one Lightning Lane return time at a time and they are subject to availability.

After that, you've booked all the main components of any great trip! If you want to modify or check any of the details, you can do so easily from the My Plans hub on the Disneyland Resort website.

I hope that's helpful, Sarah! Thanks again for your question and have a wonderful time visiting the Happiest Place on Earth.

    Have a Magical Day,
    Greg
