Lizet from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I booked my trip for October, first time! How do I get the most out the experiences that Aulani has to offer? I can't seem to book anything online, is it sold out or not available? Won't seem like it would be worth the trip.

    Aloha Lizet!

Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you’ve stopped by to see us as you begin to plan your visit to Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa! You’ll be happy to know that it isn’t that things are sold out, but reservations are not made for most things at Aulani until closer to your check-in date. At this time, Auntie’s Beach House has not reopened and not all of the activities at the Pua Hana Room have returned, but you’ll still find plenty to fill your days at the resort.

I am actually writing to you from Aulani right now, as we are finishing up our second family vacation to Hawaii! The resort is an experience unto itself, and while you can easily spend your entire vacation enjoying all that the resort has to offer, it also makes the perfect home base for exploring the island of Oahu.

Dining Reservations for Character Breakfast or dinner at Makahiki - The Bounty of the Islands, are currently available for resort Guests 30 days before dining. We had a delightful and delicious breakfast with our friends Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto just this morning! You can call to make dining reservations, or make them online.

If the spa is more your style, Laniwai Spa reopened this past week! Currently, reservations can only be made two weeks in advance and can be done in person once you have arrived, or online. The timeline may change as the autumn approaches, so I would check back closer to your visit. We were able to book my mom for a massage two days in advance by going to the spa in person.

Some of the best aspects of the resort don’t require reservations! We have easily filled our days with time at the pool and the beach. From the school-aged kiddos in our group to the grandparents, everyone has enjoyed the lazy river, the hot tubs, infinity pool, waterslides, and lagoon. After a fun-filled morning at the pool, our favorite lunch is the coconut shrimp from Mama’s Snack Shed, and nothing cools you down on a warm afternoon better than shave ice, complete with Mickey Ears, from the Papalua Shave Ice Stand right at the pool! We’ve also enjoyed socially distant character meet and greets, and storytelling by Uncle.

Visit the Pua Hana Room after arrival to make activity reservations and inquire about costs for extra experiences like Design Your Own Mickey Ears, or stargazing. They also offer free activities like the Menehune Adventure Trail where you help Auntie on a scavenger hunt of sorts while making magical things happen around the Waikolohe Valley pool area!

Lizet, we have spent the past 5 nights here at Aulani, and I’m not sure I’d ever want to leave. While the Ka Wa‘a Lū‘au does book out several months in advance, there is still so much to do at the resort. By the time October is here, hopefully, even more Guest favorites will be back. I hope you’ll continue to send questions as your trip approaches, Lizet. I absolutely love this resort and am here to help!

    Mahalo for sending your question!
