    We are booked for a trip to the art of animation with our 3 year old the first week of February. I have read that the little mermaid rooms are far from the lobby. Is there anyway to request a room closet to the lobby in that section?

    Hi there Catherine!

    Congratulations on your Walt Disney World vacation! You're going to love Disney's Art of Animation Resort! I have personally stayed in one of The Little Mermaid standard rooms myself and loved the whimsical decor and immersive storybook theming!  At Disney's newest resort, Animation Hall is the main building that features the lobby, Landscape of Flavors (quick-service restaurant), Pixel Play Arcade, Ink & Paint Shop, and business center. My guest room was located in Building 8, which is the most distant to Animation Hall. I actually timed the walk from my room to Animation Hall and found that it took 7-9 minutes depending on how briskly I walked. With that being said, it never seemed like a long walk to me, due to the giant icons we passed along the way and the beautiful landscaping. Disney does accept room requests; however, they are not guaranteed. I would recommend that you request either Building 7 or 9 for a closer location to Animation Hall and The Big Blue Pool. You may call the Walt Disney Travel Company at (407) W-DISNEY and give the friendly cast member your room request so that it can be added to your existing reservation. I hope this information helps!
