Hi Jennifer, and welcome to planDisney!
From one military wife to another, thank you for your husband's service!
Shades of Green Resort is the perfect place to call home for military families visiting Walt Disney World Resort! I stayed here last month for the first time, and I loved how spacious our resort room was, the amenities offered, and how close it is to Disney's Magic Kingdom Park! Dining here is also really good.
Garden Gallery features a delicious breakfast buffet with Mickey Waffles,
Evergreens makes a great cheeseburger, and
Express Cafe is the spot for meals on the go. I hope you love it!
To link everyone together, make sure all of your family members first are a part of your Family & Friends List in your
MyDisney account. Log in on your home computer, and select "My Family & Friends" under "My Disney Experience". If your family members are not on your list, select "Add a Guest" and follow the steps. Your family members will need to have their own MyDisney accounts activated and approve you to be on their list before you can link them. I have another Shades of Green reservation for the fall, and was able to add my sister
Tiffany to our reservation on my home computer, not through the app.
Jennifer, as a military family, don't forget to ask about the
Memory Maker military rate! If you purchased Disney Military Salute tickets, you will need to activate them at one of the Guest Relations locations at the theme parks, or the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs. While you are there, you can purchase Memory Maker with the discount. It is a great value and one that I recommend. I usually activate my tickets at Disney Springs, which gives me the perfect excuse to get some souvenir shopping done, and stop by
Gideon's Bakehouse to purchase some cookies to enjoy throughout my visit!
Jennifer, I hope all of this information was helpful! If you need additional pixie dust to plan your visit,
send me questions anytime. You've got a friend in me!
Choose Magic!
