Ahoy, Linda!
Thank you for another excellent question. I believe my son was around 8 or 9 the last time we enjoyed
Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure, and he loved every minute of it! He was like a sponge soaking up all the interesting information we found out when we arrived and thoroughly engaged while we interacted with the rays in the water. Afterwards, we snorkeled around the lagoon area and found that the 30 minutes was just about the perfect amount of time to explore. If I were you, I would definitely play it by ear because snorkel equipment can easily be rented on a walk-up basis at either Gil's Fins and Boats or Flippers and Floats. The area for novice snorkelers is just off the Castaway Cay Family Beach very close to where you'll experience the stingray excursion.
Linda, has your sailor ever participated in the Whale Dig at Monstro's Point on
Castaway Cay? This activity is always a must-do for my son because he loves to imagine he's an archeologist trying to uncover as many "whale bones" as possible at this excavation site. We always make sure he's checked in to Scuttle's Cove when it's offered there, and we always go back with him for the Family Dig. You may also want to plan time to get soaked at Pelican Plunge! It's always worth a visit for us.
I'm so glad you sailed back by, Linda.
Have a wonderful day!
Nancy
