Hiya Julie!
Welcome to planDisney! The
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort are one of the most magical times of the year. You look to be arriving at the perfect time!
As soon as
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party events have ended on Halloween day, Magic Kingdom Park and the rest of Walt Disney World Resort transform. Tinsel, sparkling lights, and holiday wreaths start appearing and it almost seems to happen overnight. According to
a post last year from the Disney Parks Blog, gingerbread displays start appearing at the Resorts from the second week of November till the new year. Last year they had beautiful displays at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Inn, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. The specific locations and dates have not been confirmed but I'm betting it will be about the same. The Disney Parks Blog will be where it will be announced! I also suspect that every other Resort will have their special decorations up by the time you arrive on November 9 including the beautiful giant Christmas tree at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge. I consider Disney's Wilderness Lodge to be my favorite Resort during the holidays as the decorations pair so beautifully with the lodge's wooden beams and natural character.
Make sure to stop at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa as the life-size gingerbread house is a must-do holiday event. You can even buy a gingerbread roof shingle for your late-night, early-morning, or just whenever, snacking!
I hope this helps and you have a jolly good time!
Happy Planning!
