We just booked our second cruise, this time with the whole family. Grandma sometimes has problems walking longer distances and I read somewhere that we can rent wheelchairs on board. Can we rent it on demand or how does it work? Thanks

    Welcome aboard, Judith!

All four of Disney's ships are very wheelchair friendly. I'm not sure if you've chosen your stateroom already, but if not, you may opt to request a handicap accessible room which will ensure you that Grandma can easily maneuver the stateroom.

If you believe that she will need a wheelchair onboard, the best thing to do is bring your own. They have a few very limited wheelchairs that they use in emergency situations, but currently do not offer those just to borrow for getting around the ship.

On Castaway Cay, if your ship stops there, they do have sand/beach wheelchairs available to borrow for the day to ensure that getting around the beach is as easy as possible. Those you can simply pick up when you arrive on the island at the first or second tram stop. Those are first-come, first-served.

I hope this helps you plan, Judith. We love traveling with multiple generations! Those are some of the best trips we've had, and I hope you find your family cruise to be just as magical!
