I've booked a Royal room at the Port Orleans Riverside hotel for the last week of March. Do you know if renovations will be finished by then? How and when should I request a refurbished room?

Hey, Pamela! My daughters love staying along the Sassagoula River at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. The Royal Guest Rooms are especially a favorite, with the fireworks lighting up the bayou on the headboard. This resort has been undergoing enhancements for around a year and I am pleased to tell you that they should be nearing completion. There is no set timeline published for the refurbishment work, but I do have some information to share with you that I have discovered on my own.

From what I understand, the Alligator Bayou rooms are completed and the buildings of Magnolia Bend are now being refined. Acadian House and Magnolia Terrace have just recently been completed, which leaves Oak Manor and Parterre Place to be addressed. Note that these remaining two buildings house the Royal Guest Rooms. The section currently being enhanced is always closed off and work is limited to daylight hours. The room enhancements really should not interfere with your stay at any of the resort's buildings. Still, if you would like to request to stay in a specific area, give Disney Resort Reservations a call as soon as possible and ask that they note on your reservation that you would like a room away from the refurbishment being completed. Please understand that this is simply a request and cannot be guaranteed.

Thanks again for stopping by and please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted adventures!
