Hi Erin! I'm so glad you stopped by the Moms Panel with your question, and I'm excited to tell you that you can't go wrong with either of these choices, as they are two of my favorite resorts!
Disney's Contemporary Resort was the first Walt Disney World Resort we chose as a family many years ago, and we've stayed there several times since. We love the modern vibe of the hotel, and nothing beats the convenience of having the Monorail sail through the Grand Canyon Concourse. However, what sealed the deal for me was the proximity to Magic Kingdom Park, which is less than a 10-minute walk away. The restaurants are some of Walt Disney World's best, and eating at
California Grill has become a family tradition for us every trip. If you'd rather enjoy a quiet meal, drop the kids (ages 4-12) off at the
Pixar Play Zone located inside the resort. Call (407) 824-KIDS or (407) 824-5437 for more information.
I also recently stayed at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for a solo trip. This is Walt Disney World's flagship resort, and its Victorian theme is refined and elegant. I can personally attest that the updated rooms have the most comfortable bedding I've ever experienced at any hotel! For little ones, the Beach Pool has a zero-depth entry and a 181-foot-long water slide. The Grand Floridian Orchestra can often be found playing in the lobby and is a wonderful way to unwind after a long day in the parks.
Either way, both of these resorts will allow kids (of all ages) to have a luxurious and memorable vacation!
