Welcome to planDisney, Grishma! With your Walt Disney World vacation just around the corner, let's see if we can get this sorted out before your
Lightning Lane booking window opens.
Since you purchased your
Disney Resort hotel reservation and
theme park tickets separately, the most likely issue is that one or both reservations are not properly linked within
My Disney Experience. In order to receive the Disney Resort hotel Guest booking benefit for Lightning Lane Passes, the system needs to recognize both your Resort reservation and your valid theme park admission in the same account.
I recommend first checking the "My Plans" section of My Disney Experience to confirm that your Disney Resort hotel reservation appears there. If it does not, you can link it using your Resort confirmation number and the last name associated with the reservation. If you booked through a travel professional, be sure to select the appropriate option when linking the reservation.
Next, verify that your theme park tickets are linked to the same My Disney Experience account. You can do this by visiting "My Tickets & Passes" in the app or online. If your tickets require Theme Park Reservations, make sure those have also been secured.
If both your Resort reservation and tickets appear correctly in My Disney Experience and you are still being treated as a regular day Guest when attempting to purchase Lightning Lane Passes, I recommend contacting the
Tickets and Hotel Reservations support team. A Cast Member can review your account, confirm that everything is linked properly, and help identify any issues preventing the system from recognizing your Resort Guest eligibility.
Before I go, here's a Lightning Lane Q-tip that has worked well for my family. I like to book my first Lightning Lane Multi Pass experience as close to park opening as possible. Once you tap into that first Lightning Lane, you can begin searching for another available selection, which often provides additional flexibility throughout the day and can help you experience more of your favorite attractions.
Grishma, I hope this helps you get everything connected and ready for a smooth planning experience. If any other questions come up before your vacation, please stop by planDisney again. We'd be happy to help.
May your Walt Disney World adventure be filled with unforgettable memories!
