I just booked a reservation for camping at Fort Wilderness. Can you tell me about dining option? I have thought about meal plans, but read they aren’t available? So do we pay we go? Or charge to our campsite?

Hello there, Liz! Welcome back to planDisney! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop back by and asking another wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are the perfect combination of the great outdoors and the luxury of a resort! Guests can look forward to staying in the 750 acres of forest that are home to a variety of critters including deer, rabbits, ducks, and armadillos. If you need to freshen up a bit, you will have access to Care Center across the resort that has indoor bathrooms, private showers, laundry facilities, and more!

Additionally, The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness have a variety of amenities including delicious dining options! These range from quick-service locations such as P & J’s Southern Takeout all the way to Trail’s End Restaurant that offers an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet. Depending on the type of meal your family would like, you should have no problem finding a restaurant that suits your needs!

It is also true that the Disney Dining Plan is not available at this time so you will need to pay for your meals as you experience them. You can use ordinary payment methods such as cash or card or you can charge your purchases to your “room” throughout your stay. I personally love the second option since it allows me to pack a bit lighter during our travels. You can also keep track of your purchases with the My Disney Experience app right from your smartphone!

I hope this information assists you in planning your vacation to Walt Disney World Resort! Please let us know if we can provide any other information as well!
