Never booked a res. at any of the resturants the last time we were at Disney. We just went in hope we could get in. However not the best way to go. What are the best rest. to make a res. at and how long of a advance do you need to book it?

Hey Barbara!  Yes, you are right, ADRs are the way to go for sure, and I'm sorry you had to learn that on your last visit.  But let's change that this time.
ADRs currently can be made 90 days in advance from your reservation.  When you call to book your resort, they will actually give you the date you can begin making ADRs.  I suggest you begin calling at 6:55 AM to get those hard to obtain ADRs.
It really is recommended that you make an ADR for any table service restaurant.  Counter service restaurants do not require a reservation, but table service meals, and especially character meals, need to be booked in advance,
I hope this helps get you started and if you have any more questions, please come back and visit us at the Mom's Panel.
