We booked a Premium Meadow site at Fort Wilderness. Do I need to pay exrra to bring my two dogs? And what is the difference between a Premium Meadow and a Preferred site?

    Howdy, Brooke! Welcome to planDisney!

Well, yee-haw! I'm so excited to hear that you'll be staying at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort! This is one of the places my husband and I love to call "home" when staying at The Most Magical Place on Earth. Brooke, I can tell you that you're in for a very special trip this June!

Just like Mickey and Pluto, I completely understand the desire to bring your furry friends with you into the magic! It will cost just $5/night in order to bring your pups with you to your campsite (at the time of this writing, price subject to change). This request can be made on the checkout page under Campsite Requests when booking a campsite. However, since you've already booked your Premium Meadow Campsite, I would reach out to a Cast Member to officially request a pet-friendly loop! One way to do this would be to use the Chat feature on the My Disney Experience app. Log into your app, tap the three stacked lines in the bottom right corner, and then tap Chat With Us. Leave the Cast Member a detailed message, including your reservation number and request for a pet-friendly loop, and they will get back to you as soon as they're able. You could also call a Cast Member to speak with someone directly! If you do call, I'd recommend calling right when phone lines open at 7:00 AM EST since their help can be in high demand.

I have a few more tips to help your four-legged friends stay as happy as can be! Your pets must be kept on a leash that is 8 feet or shorter when taken outside. Also, your pets must be in a climate-controlled environment when inside (pets aren't allowed in tents or pop-up campers). You may enjoy taking your furry pals to Waggin' Trails Dog Park, where they can meet new friends and play off-leash! And if you end up needing a day or overnight kennel care, you'll be able to find that at Best Friends Pet Care

You're going to love the Premium Meadow Campsite! This campsite will keep you tucked in close to everything that The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort has to offer, including the Meadow Trading Post and the Campfire Area! The Preferred Campsite is closer to the Marina and Pioneer Hall. You truly can't go wrong with any location at Fort Wilderness, but I think the Premium Meadow Campsites are absolutely lovely! I love being able to pop into the Meadow Trading Post for extra groceries (and souvenirs, of course!) and there's nothing like a cozy campfire to end a day at the parks.

I hope I've answered all your questions today, Brooke! If anything else pops up, visit us again. After all - you've got a friend in me!

    Run like the wind, Bullseye!
