Welcome aboard planDisney, Judith! We’re so glad you cruised by with your question!
I always have the best time on my Disney Cruise Line vacations, and honestly, the only thing that makes disembarkation day a little easier is booking the next one! That’s where the
Onboard Booking Offer, also known as a Placeholder Reservation, comes in handy. A Placeholder is basically a way to reserve a future Disney Cruise Line sailing within the next 24 months without having to choose a specific date or itinerary right away. Even better? You’ll get a discount (typically 10% off) when you eventually book that cruise.
Typically, if you’re working with a travel agent, you can indicate that at the time of booking your placeholder. But since you didn’t assign one right away, no worries...you have 30 days from the date of purchase to contact a travel agent and give them the reservation number. From there, they can call Disney Cruise Line and have the placeholder transferred to their agency. Just make sure you take care of that within the 30-day window. There’s no deadline to convert the placeholder into a specific cruise, but just make sure the sail date is within 24 months of the original booking.
And if you’re like me, you might find yourself using a placeholder on every cruise. it’s such a great way to keep the magic going! With exciting
new itineraries coming in 2026, including adventures on the upcoming Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure, you’ll have so many incredible options, from Singapore to sunny ports in Spain and Portugal.
If you have any more questions about using your placeholder or choosing your next sailing, I’m happy to help. Until then… happy planning, and here’s to your next adventure at sea!
With pixie dust and ocean breezes,
Eean
