Ahoy, Elisabeth!
Thank you for another great question about your upcoming cruise in March. The
Pirates League has been quite popular since its debut aboard Disney Cruise Line. My buccaneers enjoyed the opportunity to have pirate makeovers a few sailings ago and loved their experience...especially taking the official pirate oath! Their appointments were also in the afternoon, so I made sure we planned accordingly so they kept their makeovers fresh for the evening's festivities. I believe we played shuffleboard and saw a first-run movie to help pass the time.
It looks like you'll be able to disembark the ship around 8:30 a.m. on the day you'll be on
Castaway Cay. I think you should have plenty of time to experience Disney's Bahamian paradise and make your pirate appointments f you get an early start on your day. The walk over to the Castaway Family Beach (closest to the ship) is about 10 minutes and less time on Castaway Air (the tram service). My advice is to explore the areas furthest from the ship during the morning hours (Pelican Plunge and Spring-a-Leak) and set aside time for the beach and/or a visit to Scuttle's Cove (the youth club on the island) late morning/early afternoon. Cookies BBQ begins serving around 11:30 a.m. so you can grab some lunch before heading back to the ship around 1:20-1:30 p.m. It won't take long, but you'll definitely want to plan time to head back to your stateroom to change before your appointment time.
Pirate Night is sure to be a swashbuckling good time for your pirate crew, Elisabeth! Pirate Mickey and his crew will be available for photos at various times that evening so check your cruise newsletter or the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for all the details! These are always some of my favorite photos from the cruise!
