Hello Jennifer!
Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for visiting with your question. Looks like you're arranging details for a fun getaway vacation at Disney World this winter. Woo hoo! I'd be happy to help, and found out some information that may assist with your decisions.
I've got two giant gold fur babies myself, so I enjoyed researching this question for you. I wasn't entirely certain which Disney Resort you were referring to, but for reference there are
four pet-friendly hotels at Walt Disney World. Prices are subject to change, but here are the current nightly pet fees if you choose to travel with your dog.
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort ($50/night pet fee + tax)
- Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside ($50/night pet fee + tax)
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort ($75/night pet fee + tax)
- The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort ($50/night pet fee + tax; $30/night + tax for DVC members)
At each of these locations, designated dog-friendly rooms are available in all room categories. They will accommodate guests traveling with up to two dogs.
To answer your question, the available dog-friendly rooms are not necessarily located in just one specific building number, or tied to reserving a preferred room type. You can be assured that each room will have easy access to outdoor walkways for exercise, and to green spaces with pet relief areas. While certain floors or sections of these Disney Resort hotels are designated as dog-friendly, the majority of areas remain canine-free to protect Guests with allergies.
Guests must register their pups with the Front Desk upon arrival, and agree to adhere to the pet policies. Dogs and their owners will be greeted with a complimentary Pluto’s Welcome Kit!
As a reminder, other than service animals, dogs are not permitted in theme parks, water parks or common areas such as restaurants, pools and recreational spaces. If you were looking for alternative ideas, kennel services are available to board pets during your stay at a Disney Resort. Best Friends Pet Care offers a variety of accommodations and is located across from Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside at 2510 Bonnet Creek Parkway.
It sounds like you had a Disney Resort already in mind? If it's one of these four, I recommend that you go ahead and make that reservation for the room category you'd like. Then just give
Disney Resort Reservations a call to discuss requesting a pet-friendly room, and see if they can give you a better idea of potential building locations at that time.
Jennifer, I hope this helps! Please
visit me again at planDisney if I can answer any additional questions. And have an absolutely wonderful time at Walt Disney World!
The magic is calling,
Tami
