Ahoy, Megan! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for bringing us your question about your upcoming sailing with Disney Cruise Line.
It sounds like you and your family will be enjoying a stop at
Disney Castaway Cay and you are trying to make sure that your kids’ parasailing
Port Adventures are properly booked. There appears to only be one option for booking
Parasailing at Castaway Cay (C08), which is a reservation for a 1-hour experience per person. However, the details make clear that you only get to parasail for approximately 5 to 7 minutes of that time and guests must stay on the boat for the duration of the excursion while other participants parasail. So realistically, you are trying to get four spots on the same boat, so that you can take a turn parasailing with each of your two kids. It sounds simple enough, but I understand that the booking logistics are what is making it complicated.
Based on my research, I can assure you that you are definitely not the first parent who has run into
this particular issue! You are absolutely right that you need to sign up twice because you will be parasailing twice, but the reservation system does not give you that option. I am happy to report that your solution of using the fourth member of your party to book the extra reservation is actually one of the options that Disney Cruise Line recommends. The other option would be to book two different times, so that you can book yourself once with each child.
Although you have reserved the necessary spots, you will need to speak with the Port Adventures desk once you step onboard to get everything in shipshape. Go explain on embarkation day that you included the fourth member of your party to save the spot, but you are planning to use both of them yourself to be able to have the experience with both children. They should be able to give you more information and help set you up for smooth sailing from there.
I hope you have the best time at Castaway Cay making special memories with both of your kids. If you have any other questions before you set sail, then you are always welcome at planDisney. Happy (para)sailing!
