Hi. We are booked on the 5-Night Western Caribbean Cruise From Miami leaving Jan 1, 2023 on the Dream. Could you help me understand what nights there will be deck parties (e.g. pirate night) and what time those take place? Thank you very much!

Ahoy there, Robin! Welcome aboard, friend, and thank you for cruising on in with your question.

Disney Cruise Line has mastered the art of the deck party. From your sail away party, which will take place on embarkation day at around 4 - 4:30 in the afternoon, to the marauding mayhem of Pirate Night, these fun festivities add a whole next level of shipboard magic to make memories from.

The Sailing Away Deck Party takes place as you are departing the port in the late afternoon. You are definitely going to want to log into your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app as soon as you board the ship to double-check the time. Depending on how things are going in getting everyone on board, this time could be pushed back to make sure guests are all settled and ready to sail.

Pirate Night can be a bit more fluid. I will say that on the Disney Dream during your itinerary, day 3 is a sea day. There's a chance it would be that day or day 4, but with all of the on-deck festivities, the actual timing of this could be influenced by other factors. Keep an eye on the Navigator app for the actual day.

Most of the fun on Pirate Night begins around 7:45, allowing the main-seating diners to get through their meals. The fireworks take place sometime after 10 PM, followed by the special pirate buffet in Cabanas. You won't have to worry about missing much, even if you have late seating. Those pirates can party like rockstars all evening long.

I hope you have the most magical trip, Robin!
