Hi, John! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for bringing such a great question to us. Saddle up and hang on because I have some great information for you! Having an Advance Dining Reservation at
Mickey's Backyard BBQ means you are in for a rousing good time and the best eats this side of Cinderella Castle. The addition of a Category 1 booking section provides an extra layer of fun. Take a look at your reservation and if it is labeled as Category 1, your family will be able to enter the shindig to claim your favorite spot on a bench, start chowing down on some really scrumptious food, and (hold on to your hats for this one!) have a really cool meet and greet with the Disney characters scheduled to be at the show that evening! Yeeha!
The best part of this, John, is that you could use your Disney Dining Plan to pay for either Category 1 or 2 seats. Each person in your party will be billed two Table Service meal credits to dine at this character experience dining location, no matter which category seating you reserved. You will need to stop by the Fort Wilderness Pavilion Box Office prior to the meal to pick up your tickets, which can actually be obtained up to seven days in advance. At that time, just let the Cast Member know that you did pay with your credit card but would like to use your
Disney Dining Plan Table Service meal credits. They will assist you in refunding your credit card.
John, I hope you have a great time with Mickey and the gang! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
