Just booked June 2016!! Since our last tripp they've changed the DxDP & -now we only get entree, dessert & beverage and the appetizer is GONE! I'm diabetic so dessert isn't always a good choice - can I substitute an appetizer off the menu? Thank

Hi, Mary!  I've just had a rather lengthy conversation with a cast member about the appetizer on the Deluxe Dining Plan.  The information released for the 2016 plan did not include the appetizer, however, during my recent phone call, I have been assured that the exclusion of the appetizer was an error.  The Deluxe Dining Plan will still include an appetizer for 2016.

There was something else I found out while on my phone conversation which may be great for those of us with diabetes.  You can now ask to substitute a side salad, a cup of soup. or a small fruit plate instead of having dessert at the end of your meal.  You won't be able to exchange the dessert for a regular menu appetizer, but upon request, you can opt for one of these other choices.

There are a few other changes to the Deluxe Dining Plan for 2016.  You are not limited to the number of credits you may use at a meal.  For example, if you are a family of four and you have a friend meet you for dinner, you can use an extra credit to cover the cost of your friend's meal.  Also, on the Deluxe Dining Plan, children and adult credits are treated equally, so if you have a nine year old who doesn't like the typical kids' fare, they can opt for something from the adult menu.  On the flip side of that coin, if you have a 10 year old who is a picky eater, they can still order a meal from the children's menu.

I hope this helps with your planning! Oh, and always ask if there is a sugar free dessert available. Many restaurants will have something special!
