    just booked our flight and are looking at staying at the Wilderness Lodge. We have a 5 yr old girl and a 3 yr old boy, should be take a rest day? it will be short vacation April 17-21 but leaving EXTREMELY early on the 21st at 9am; how many park tickets?

    How exciting you have booked your flights for your Walt DIsney World vacation, Carla! Disney's Wilderness Lodge is one of my favorite places to stay when visiting the "Happiest Place on Earth"! You will love being able to take the motor launch (water taxi) to Magic Kingdom Park from Disney's WIlderness Lodge. As a mom of four children, I have found it to be too much to spend three consecutive days in the theme parks with little ones. We really enjoy having a non-park day in the middle of our vacation to let the kids sleep in, enjoy a late Character DIning Experience for breakfast, and then enjoy our Disney Resort in the afternoon. We have also visited Downtown Disney in the afternoon or evening on our non-park day. With that being said, on short trips when there was not ample time for a non-park day, we have gone back to our resort daily for midday breaks or naps.

    I wish I knew for sure if you are anticipating a visit to the parks on your arrival day so that I can better assist you with how many park tickets to purchase. On our arrival day, I personally like to get settled into our room and explore our resort. I always find it advantageous to get the kids in bed early on our first night so that we can arrive at park opening the following morning. I would recommend purchasing a two or three day Magic Your Way Ticket depending on how many days you plan to visit the parks. Guests can also add the Park Hopper Option onto the Magic Your Way Ticket which gives them the opportunity to visit more than one park on each day. I hope this information helps!
