We just booked our first Disney Vacation for September. We're staying Sunday - Friday at Old Key West Resort with my parents and kids (5,3,10m). We need some suggestions on what we should do before check in at our hotel on Sunday afternoon. Thanks!

    Welcome Holly,

Can you hear that? It's the sound of your countdown clock ticking away. You will be listening to the steel drum welcoming your Home to Disney's Old Key West Resort before you know it.

I can say for certain that you will never find yourself without something wonderful to do during your first vacation at Walt Disney World Resort! In fact, you are more likely to want to do ten things at once! My best advice is always to remind yourself to slow down, take a deep breath and enjoy it.

First, be sure to complete Online Check-In before your arrival at Disney's Old Key West Resort. You will have the option to make requests for a particular area of the Resort, certain views, and even a designated floor. Just below that, you can prioritize having your Disney Vacation Club Villa available early over any other request. This might give you a little extra peace of mind. Then, when your Villa is available, you will receive a text and you can head right to your spacious accommodations. It's very convenient!

I always recommend a relaxing afternoon spent around the fabulous Sand Castle Pool or one of the quiet pools located around the Resort. If you might burst at the seams and relaxing isn't on the agenda, what about a beautiful boat ride on a Disney Vacation Club Water Taxi to Disney Springs? There are plenty of unique shops, tasty restaurants, and even a bowling alley and movie theater available in this beautiful entertainment district. There is even a carousel!

Please let us know how else we can help, Holly!

    Wishing you many magical memories,

    Sally
