Ahoy, Elsa!
Congratulations on booking your first Disney Cruise Line vacation! My girls were 6 and 9 on our first Disney Cruise aboard the Disney Magic. The Oceaneer Club and
Oceaneer Lab are geared for kids ages 3 to 12. Your girls will be able to hang out together for the duration of your vacation.
Something that I will suggest is that you try to take your children separately to do something, while the other one is in the clubs. This will give each of your children one-on-one time with you, and also encourage them to meet other kids in the clubs. You might take one child to a movie and experience the Princess meet and greet with the other.
Once you have fallen in love with cruising with Captain Mickey and his crew, be sure to book your next cruise while you are onboard, to enjoy a 10% savings on most future cruises plus an onboard credit. This was one of the things I wish I had known on my first Disney Cruise!
Some other first time tips:
1. The stateroom doors are magnetic...and they ALL look the same. Help the small people in your room by decorating your door with magnets. You can make some great magnets with your computer and printer. There are some GREAT graphics groups on Facebook.
2. You can't do it all, and it is ok. Just like when you visit the Walt Disney World Resort, there are lots of activities to keep your family busy throughout the day. You can't possibly attend every single trivia, movie, and dance party. That is what your NEXT DCL cruise is for!
3. Be sure to stop for any and all photo opportunities...you never know when the photographer will catch your next frame-worthy shot!
I hope this helps with your cruise planning. Please visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any more questions that arise before you set sail!
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
