We are booked for our first Disney Cruise on April 25, 2012. We would really like to do the Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure on Castaway Cay but our youngest daughter is just shy of 5 years of age (1 month away). Is there any way around this?

    Hi Kristen!

Thanks so much for writing the Moms Panel with your cruise question!  I'm so excited that it is almost your turn to experience all Disney has to offer on the high seas!  I know you will find your first Disney cruise to be a magical vacation filled with one pixie dusted moment after another!

Castaway Cay is my favorite port of call and after six visits, I'm counting the days until I'm enjoying this tropical paradise again!  Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure is a very popular excursion on the island, so I completely understand why you want your family to experience it.  I contacted Disney to ask about flexibility with age requirements.  Unfortunately, third party vendors run the Port Adventures ashore, and they are the ones that set the rules.  Since your daughter is so close to five, I would stop by the Port Adventure desk once you board the ship and double check to see if they will let your entire crew participate.

My fingers are crossed everything works out, and you will get to see the stingrays up close and personal!

If you think of any other last minute questions, please let me know!

Have a magical time and bon voyage!
