I have booked an eighth floor extended terrace room on the Dream in order to be able to relax and enjoy the scenery. But, I tend to have a sea sickness issue. Should I change to a mid ship room? I really want that big balcony with the good views of port

Welcome aboard, Carolyn! Though I don't personally suffer from seasickness, I know many who do, and it can be difficult to say the least.

If you are excited about your extended verandah stateroom on the Dream, do keep that reservation. Be sure to bring Dramamine along with you for use on rough sea days. Hopefully you'll experience smooth sailing on the water during your trip and won't feel too many negative effects, but if you do, there are a few things that tend to help, no matter where you are on the ship.

Get outside on your verandah and breath in the fresh air. Then close your eyes for a few moments. When you open them again, focus on the horizon. This is said to reset your inner ear and tends to work well for many guests. If it is an extremely rough sea day, don't stay in your stateroom if you feel that the location isn't helping. Head midship and stand out on deck there if that seems to help.

I'd hate for you to give up your amazing stateroom just in case, but honestly, if the ship is rocking, it's going to be rocking midship too.

I wish I had a more definitive answer for you, Carolyn, but you'll just have to go with your best thoughts on this one and see how you do. Please let me know if I can assist with anything else before you set sail. I'm happy to help!
