I booked my Disney trip less than 180 out and found dinning was pretty booked. Do reservations sometimes open up when people cancel?? I really want to get my daughter to a princess meal.

Hi, Karen! The good thing about booking so close to your trip is that you don't have long to wait! Yeah! However, I know that getting the reservations you want might prove harder, but don't give up hope. I would begin by checking the website everyday for cancellations.  As Guests' plans change, so do their dining reservations.  You never know when an opening might occur.  I would be especially vigilant in the days right before your trip.  Since most dining experiences are pre-paid or there's a fee to no-show, there may be some openings in the day or two before the day you want to dine. A cancellation policy applies and will result in charges if the Guest cancels with insufficient notice. If Guests' plans change, there will be cancellations to avoid paying for a meal they aren't attending. If you're still needing reservations when you arrive, seek help from the Guest Services at your Resort.  If all else fails, you can always try to get a walk-up reservation, too.  I'm sending pixie-dusted wishes that you get the reservations you want.  Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
