We booked a Disney trip over Columbus Day weekend, plus a few days before and after. Any park suggestions or avoidances during any certain days? I heard that it will be very crowded for the holiday weekend. Would you suggest MNSSHP?

    Hi Michelle!

You've picked a great time to go to Walt Disney World. In fact, I'm planning a trip for right around then too :)
The crowds are lower than usual during this time of year, the summer weather has cooled off from its peak heat, and you get to celebrate Halloween (a little early) at the Magic Kingdom.

First, for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a MUST-DO in my book! We always have this on our itinerary. Some of the highlights are the special Halloween Parade, Hallo-Wishes! Fireworks and the Headless Horseman. Don't miss riding the Haunted Mansion during the party. Don't forget your costume and to go Trick or Treating!

As for most crowded days, our strategy is actually pretty simple. Unless we are planning to take advantage of a Park's Morning Extra Magic Hours, we avoid that park for the day. Most people will plan to visit only one park per day. This means, if they are headed to extra magic hours (even evening ones) that they will stay there all day. So, parks with Extra Magic Hours tend to be the most crowded park of the day.

Since this isn't a high-crowd time of year, I think that as long as you apply the concept above, you should be all set.

Hope this helps! Please don't hesitate to ask the Moms Panel if we can help with more details! We love to plan trips!
