Anchors aweigh, Jennifer!
Thanks for bringing your question to us here at planDisney. We are always happy to help our fellow Guests with their vacation planning. I'm so excited to see that you have a visit to Walt Disney World Resort planned before your Disney Cruise Line vacation. I'm all for
Disney Land & Sea vacations!I know you are looking forward to that magical moment when you board the ship. There is nothing quite like that moment when your travel party is introduced when you first walk into the ship's atrium. You will feel like the star of the show! Before I get too ahead of myself talking about how fabulous your cruise will be, let's talk transportation.
If you've booked
Disney Ground Transfers from a
Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you will receive a digital resort letter with your departure information. These emails will be sent to the primary Guest's email address 48 hours prior to embarkation and will explain the timing and details. You should expect your pickup time to be sometime around 9:30 a.m. The time usually varies based on how many Guests are utilizing Ground Transfer transportation. Your
Port Arrival Time will be set for you based on the expected arrival time of your transfer. The trip to the port is about one hour, depending on traffic and if you stop at other resort hotels before departing Walt Disney World.
Jennifer, as you are making your
packing list, remember to have some essentials in your carry-on bag since your other luggage generally will not be delivered to your stateroom until a few hours after you board. In addition to sunscreen, a water bottle, and valuables or medications, you will want to have your travel documents, including
government-issued ID, in your bag. Also, download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to your phone so you have all your cruise plans right at your fingertips!
I trust that your embarkation day will be smooth sailing, Jennifer! If you have other questions, sail by again and let us know.
Wishing you many magical moments at sea,
Shannon
