I have booked Disney hotel for 2 days and a 3 day pass. I will only arrive in the hotel around 6pm (due to flying to LAX in the afternoon), can I enter the hotel and not use my day pass for that day? Saving the pass to for another day.

    Hello there, Riikka!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with your question! We always appreciate seeing overseas travelers here and I hope that you're having a great time planning your Halloween Season visit to the Disneyland Resort. It's my favorite time of year as the entire Resort is decked out in a spooky but magical atmosphere with characters in costume and special themed food items all around the Parks!

When you arrive to the Disneyland Resort from the Los Angeles International Airport, you are indeed welcome to enter your Hotel without activating a day from your Theme Park Ticket. The lobby and grounds of the Hotels are open to the public and you may explore to your heart's content. Don't forget that you have access to all of Downtown Disney District as well! So it's perfectly fine to save that day on your ticket, but just keep in mind that Multi Day Tickets need to be used within 13 days after first use.

I love using free time to explore my Resort and its surroundings. Do you already know what you want to do during your evening? In case you haven't made plans, here are some of my personal suggestions:

    • Go on a scavenger hunt. Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit is scheduled to return this year at Downtown Disney. Hunt for hidden character inspired pumpkins and earn a prize at the end!
    • Explore the Resorts. Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa goes all out with decorating for the Season and there is usually an extremely impressive culinary display adorning the Grand Lobby. And be sure to take a look around the recently renovated Pixar Place Hotel
    • Enjoy a meal at one of the many fine dining restaurants located at the Hotels and Downtown Disney! Reservations are recommended and may be made 60 days prior. There are many changes coming for Downtown Disney, so keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for exciting new venues.
    • Walk around, enjoy the live entertainment, and shop at the Downtown Disney District. Then bowl a round at Splitsville Luxury Lanes. Enjoy a drink at Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel

Riikka, I hope that this response was helpful for you and gave you some more ideas! I wish you the best as you plan your trip and please stop by again if you have more questions. We'd love to be continue being involved in your vacation!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
