Hello!! We just booked the Disney Dream cruise for January of 2020. Is it worth booking a private cabin on Castaway Cay for the day we port there?

    Ahoy Jessica!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I am so excited that you will be visiting my favorite oasis in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay!  Disney's private island is a beach paradise, no matter how you choose to experience it.

I have been fortunate enough to spend some of my Castaway Cay days in a private cabana on both the Castaway Family Beach and the adults-only Serenity Bay Beach.  For my family, the cost associated is well worth the experience.

When my pirates were little, it was great to have some quiet, private space for them to relax in the shade.  With light refreshments stocked in the cabana and comfortable seating, it is easy to drift away for nap time.  As my family has grown older (not up!), we have appreciated this central meeting place as we wander around the island.

All of the amenities offered with a private cabana make it a valuable Port Adventure.  That being said, reservations for the Castaway Cay cabanas are extremely popular and book quickly.  If you are unable to reserve a cabana once your advance booking window opens, continue to check back as they can become available prior to your sailing.  Once onboard the Disney Dream, you can also visit the Port Adventures Desk (Deck 5, Midship) to add your name to a waiting list in the event a cabana becomes available prior to your arrival at Castaway Cay.

Castaway Cay is perfect no matter how you enjoy your time there.  If you are unable to reserve a private cabana, rest assured knowing that there are plenty of chairs and umbrellas for all guests on the beach!

Enjoy planning your magical getaway.  Cruise back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any additional questions you have as you plan your adventure.

    Bon voyage!  Angie
