I booked a deluxe room in the contemporary because I liked the idea of a sitting area for when our 6 year old and 4 year old go to bed. Is the day bed big enought for two small children or should I get a room with 2 queens and no sitting area?

Two children would probably be quite uncomfortable in a daybed together. The deluxe resort daybeds are about the size of a regular twin bed, perhaps even a bit smaller. I have twin girls, and even when they were both three years old, they would have kicked and squirmed if sleeping together on a daybed.

Given your interest in having two separate room areas, have you considered staying in a villa-style room rather than a deluxe room. There are villas at many of the deluxe WDW resorts, including in the Bay Lake Tower wing of the Contemporary. Bay Lake Tower is less than two years old, everything is new and fresh and the location is fabulous.

The one bedroom villas actually give you two separate rooms: a bedroom with two queen size beds (or a king) and a living room that has a queen size pull-out couch. I have often had two of my kids sleep on the queen-sized pull-out. There is ample room for them,

In addition to this you have a real kitchen with a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and a washer/dryer. The kitchen comes stocked with dishes and cookware. I am NOT a fan of doing chores on vacation, but have the ability to easily give the kids toast or a bowl of cereal in the morning is quite helpful. And with small spill-prone kids, that easy access to laundry facilities can't be beat.

For more information about any of these rooms, you should call Disney reservations at 407-W-DISNEY.

I hope this gives you some ideas.
