We are booked Dec 29- Jan 4th, we keep hearing that the parks are crowded during this time? Also will the water park(s) be open? We live in SE Tx, so are quite familiar with how erratic the temperatures can be in Dec.

    Hi Michelle,

You are right with what you are hearing-the parks are going to be crowded at that time of the year! But with a little planning, you can enjoy a magical vacation at the Walt Disney World Resorts!

First, make sure you have dining reservations and involve your children in the planning if they are going with you. When we visited with our daughters during this time, we had them pick three must see attractions each day. Once these were covered, the rest was all a bonus.

Second, remember you will not see everything and some of the magic of the season is in the resorts. Make a dinner reservation here so you get a break from the crowds.

Finally, one water park will be open and this year it is Typhoon Lagoon. The water is heated year round at 82 degrees so take a day here if you want.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
