we booked 4 days at Disneyland and I have a special needs kid who is very excited about meeting Mary Poppins. Could you please tell me how can I make his dream come true? Any times we can look for her?

    Hi Adriana,

Thanks for visiting planDisney! I’m so happy to hear that you and your family will be visiting Disneyland soon.

What I love about Disneyland is that you will often find characters walking around the park. That is how I was lucky enough to run into Mary Poppins, Bert, and even a waiter penguin! Character availability varies from day to day, so I recommend checking the Disneyland app to see if and when Mary Poppins will be out for the day. When you launch the app, you will want to click on the map icon. Scroll across the top and select Characters. I like to switch to the list mode (near the bottom right corner of the map) to see all the characters that will be out for the day. Mary Poppins can often be found on the Fantasyland Walkway that runs from Pixie Hollow to the teacups. I have seen Mary Poppins riding the Carousel unannounced, so keep an eye out for when she might suddenly appear!

If your little one loves music, you can also find the Pearly Band from the Mary Poppins movie performing at the Castle Courtyard and near "it’s a small world." Check the Disneyland app to see what times they will be performing under the Entertainment schedule for the day. They will often play songs from the Mary Poppins movie.

While on your trip, be sure to use the services that Disneyland provides to help with waiting in line with little ones. You might want to consider Rider Switch or even the Disability Access Services (DAS) provided at Disneyland and California Adventure. These various services help make waiting in line easier for you and your child.

Adriana, I hope this information is helpful. Disneyland Resort has a lot of amazing events coming in 2025, so follow Disney Parks on Instagram to see what new things will be happening during your visit. If you have any other questions or need help planning, feel free to reach out to me or one of my fellow panelists—we’d be happy to share our insights.

I hope your trip is practically perfect in every way!
