We have story teller breakfast reservations at 7 am this Friday and are doing Disneyland that day. Staying at hotel lulu - what is the best plan of action to get to restaurant and then to disneyland?

Hi, Candice! Welcome to planDisney. I'm glad you've brought us your question. It sounds like you've got lots of magic planned for your upcoming trip so let's get to it!

Storytellers Cafe is one of my very favorite restaurants at the Disneyland Resort, and rubbing elbows with my Mickey and pals is a great way to start the day! Your hotel is about a mile walk or a 7-minute drive depending on how you'd like to arrive at the Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for your Mickey’s Tales of Adventure breakfast reservation. Whether walking or cruising, I recommend heading to the hotel's main entrance off Disneyland Dr. instead of walking to the Harbor Boulevard security area into the Downtown Disney District. The reason for this suggestion is that you would have to stop at two security screening areas on the way to your reservation - and those lines can be very long in the morning before the parks open. Once you arrive at the hotel, you'll walk through the Main Lobby (be sure to enjoy the Craftsman-style architecture!) to Storytellers Cafe.

After breakfast, if you are heading to Disneyland Park, you will need to head back through the hotel toward the Downtown Disney District. Disneyland Park, unlike Disney California Adventure Park, does not have direct park access from the Grand Californian. You will want to head to the Main Entrance off the Esplanade to enter Disneyland Park!

Candice, if you are looking to maximize your time at Disneyland, you might want to consider purchasing Lighting Lane Multi or Single Pass to your park day. With Lighting Lanes, you select a return time for eligible attractions one at a time throughout the day. These selections can be canceled and modified throughout the day in the Disneyland Mobile App. If you want to ride one of the participating attractions more than once, you'll need to use the standby line for additional rides. For special occasions or when I'm short on time, I love purchasing this optional feature.

I hope this information helps. If you need more planning help, please visit me again. I'd love to help plan a magical day!

    See ya real soon,
    Melissa
