Ahoy, Ida!
Thank you for sending in this "WONDER"ful question! Your weekend getaway will give you a great taste of what Disney has to offer on the high seas!
My first piece of advice is to try not to squeeze too much in, which I know is easier said than done. I actually feel this way about any length of cruise because it really makes a difference in the quality of your time onboard. Take time to relax and soak in the Disney magic! Disney Cruise Line does offer onboard booking discounts if you want to book your future cruise while aboard so consider visiting the Disney Vacation Planning desk before you disembark.
I highly recommend taking along a few colored highlighters to mark what each family member wants to do in your Personal Navigator. You'll receive the first one in the terminal so you'll be able to start planning right away. The Walking Ship Tour is usually offered twice the first afternoon so this is great way to familiarize yourself with the
Disney Wonder. There will be plenty of Character Appearances so pick a few of your favorites to see and arrive a few minutes before they begin to get your spot in line. Two events you don't want to miss will be held in the Walt Disney Theatre each night, Frozen, A Musical Spectacular and Disney Dreams: An Enchanted Classic! These amazing shows will blow you away!
I also suggest having your kids take part in the phenomenal youth programming. Your little one will love the Oceaneer Club and Lab and your older sailor can choose between Edge and Vibe. When they are not enjoying the youth clubs, pick out a family activity to experience together ("Fun For All Ages" in the cruise newsletter). And finally, get a spot in the Lobby Atrium for Til' We Meet Again on the last night. You'll be able to get some last minute autographs and photos with your favorite Disney Pals!
I hope this helps, Ida!
