Hi. We have just booked my daughter's 1st WDW trip (and mine!) for her 5th bday in sept. I know I can't make ADR til 180 days out but what reservation times would you suggest for dinner to flow well with other planning like nightly fireworks, parades, etc?

    Hi Tiffany!

I love that you are planning your trip already! You are a planner after my own heart!

One of the first things to consider is if your daughter will be taking a nap each day, and if you expect to return to the resort for the rest. I'd like to suggest that you do strongly consider some downtime in the afternoons. Even older children who have out-grown naps can benefit from some rest at Walt Disney World. There is so much going on that it is hard to keep up - even for adults sometimes! Personally, I would plan to be finished with meals by about 7pm at the latest, but you'll want to check out the parade and firework times to be sure this works for each park you are visiting.

If you will be returning to the resort, then you may want to make your reservations for early evening. This way you can rest, swim or explore resort activities without having to rush to dinner. However, the alternative may be true if you plan on having your daughter take short naps in a stroller. In that case, I'd suggest an early dinner so that you have a little more time out of the hustle and bustle of the parks. When you eat earlier, you can also enjoy some less crowded times on rides as the peak dinner hour hits and many guests are filling restaurants.

Hope this helps a bit. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to stop by the Moms Panel and ask away! We love to help plan trips!
