Hello, We have just booked a cruise on the Wonder for our families. Our 4 grandchildren are all under age 10 and we were assigned late dinner, on wait list for early seating. What are the chances for getting earlier seating? Any other avenues to try?

    Ahoy Cathy!
Welcome to the Moms Panel!  Experiencing a Disney Cruise with your grandchildren will make your vacation extra magical!  The cruise staff on the Disney Wonder does a fantastic job of offering activities for all ages so everyone in your crew is sure to have a blast!
As for your dining dilemma, you have definitely taken the right first step by having your name added to the wait list so fingers crossed you will have success before you set sail.  If you don't have any luck before your departure, there will be an opportunity on the afternoon of embarkation to change your seating time.  When you check-in at the cruise terminal, you will receive your first cruise newsletter, the Personal Navigator.  On the front cover there will be directions on when and where to go to switch seating times.  I cannot guarantee they will have space, but the dining team will do their best to accommodate your request.
If you do find yourself with second seating on your sailing, I recommend taking advantage of the "Dine & Play" program only offered to second seating Guests.  "Dine & Play" gives young cruisers (ages 3 to 12) the opportunity to have their meal expedited so they can leave dinner early to enjoy the programming in Oceaneer Club and Lab.  Once you sit down for your meal, you inform the dining team that your grandchildren want to leave with the youth counselors when they come through each main dining venue.  The counselors usually arrive around 9:15 and are easy to spot in their bright colored shirts.  If your grandchildren do participate, it will give the adults in your party a chance to enjoy the rest of your meal kids free.
I hope all works out for you, Cathy!  Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel, and please write back if I can assist you with other questions!
Have a magical day and good luck!
