Welcome aboard, Beth! This fall you are sure to have one very magical cruise with Disney!
Disney Cruise Line is excellent in working with families who have food allergies. If you haven't done so already, be sure to call Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent to have a note added to your reservation about your children's allergies. This information is then given to the ship before you even set foot onboard.
On the first evening, your head server will come to your table to discuss with you the options for your children's food selections. Since Disney Cruise Line features
rotational dining and your servers will follow you to each main dining restaurant throughout the cruise, you can feel confident that they have the allergy information from day one, and there is no need to re-explain to a different server each night.
Disney Cruise Line does suggest that families with food allergies try to eat in only the main dining restaurants for all meals. Though you are certainly welcome to grab food from the buffet or the quick service spots by the pool, eating in the main dining restaurants ensures that food preparation is done in a galley that is large enough to prevent cross-contamination when dealing with allergies. Plus, there will always be a head server and other specially trained servers on hand in the main dining restaurants so you can chat about food choices.
I hope that helps as you continue to plan your exciting cruise, Beth! I'm happy to help with any other questions you might have, so don't hesitate to stop back!
