I have booked to cruise with Destiny on Jan 26, 2026. My flight arrives at 12:35 at Fort Lauderdale. Would it be ok for the boarding time?

    Hi there, Inhee!

I’m so glad you stopped by planDisney with your question. How exciting that you’ll be sailing aboard the brand-new Disney Destiny. It’s going to be such a magical voyage!

Just yesterday, The Disney Parks Blog revealed even more enchanting details about the ship, and I couldn’t be more excited. The Destiny embraces a “Heroes and Villains” theme, and the new experiences sound incredible! There’s a piano lounge inspired by Cruella de Vil and a stunning new rotational dining restaurant called Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, which will bring the music and heart of the film to life in a whole new way. I’ve already booked a sailing for my own family, and I can’t wait!

Now, let’s talk about your arrival. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is very close to Port Everglades, only about 5 miles away. However, with a scheduled flight arrival at 12:35 PM and the final boarding time typically around 3:00 PM, your timing will be very tight. If everything goes perfectly and there are no delays, it might work out. But I always recommend giving yourself more breathing room, especially if you’re flying a long distance or internationally. Travel delays can happen due to weather, customs, or unexpected airline issues. For peace of mind, I suggest arriving at least one day before embarkation and staying at a hotel near the port. That way, you can relax and start your vacation feeling refreshed and stress-free.

Also, about 30 days before your cruise, you’ll complete online check-in and select your Port Arrival Time. During the process, you'll provide information about your travel plans. The earlier you check in, the more options you’ll have, so it’s good to mark that on your calendar! One last tip: Consider purchasing travel insurance for added protection. Disney Cruise Line offers a Vacation Protection Plan that could be a helpful option, just in case anything unexpected arises before or during your trip.

I hope this helps you feel more prepared and excited for your journey, Inhee. Please stop by again if you have any more questions. We’re always happy to help!

    Wishing you smooth sailing,

    Eean
