Welcome aboard, Erica! I'm so excited to hear that you've booked the
Cozumel Ruins, Chocolate and Beach Break adventure for your cruise that is coming up in just a few more days! I absolutely loved experiencing this adventure when we set sail with Disney too!
The motor coach tour itself was part of the adventure, because we we ended up driving a loop around all of
Cozumel throughout the day, seeing the coast of the whole island! Our guide was super informative, telling stories as we went. Our first stop was the San Gervasio Ruins. Our guide took us throughout some of the Site, educating us on the history of the ancient Mayan culture and pointing out the purposes of some of the monuments. Then, we had free time to explore the ruins on our own. My son was only four at the time, and he still got a lot out of it, and loved exploring the setting. A warning though: it is HOT there! Bring bottled water with you if you'd like more than the one bottle provided. We went in January and were not expecting the heat like that.
We got to cool off on our ride after that. You'll then get to enjoy a really different experience learning about the origins of chocolate in the Mayan culture, and yes, you'll get a taste!!! The scent of chocolate there alone is worth it!
Then, it's off to the Playa Mia Beach Resort to relax the rest of the day. There are plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas, and the beach is simply gorgeous. You'll have plenty to keep you busy without spending anything extra, while you enjoy just relaxing and playing in the sand and waves, or paddling around in a kayak. They do have a delicious and reasonably priced restaurant right on the beach.
I hope that helps as you get ready to sail next week!
Have a wonderful cruise adventure, Erica!
