Have booked Cinderella's RT for breakfast. I had to pay in full at time of reservation but I would like to use the 2 credits on dining plan. Do they actually charge you at time of reservation and will they refund if you use DP? Not sure how it works.

A few meals at WDW, notably Cinderella's Royal Table, do require you to pre-pay using a credit card. This is to prevent guests from no-showing at this much sought-after dining experience. However, once you're at the restaurant, you can change your method of payment if something else suits you better.

My family dined at Cinderella's Royal Table this fall. My husband made the reservation and gave Disney Dining his credit card number. While we were at Disney World, we decided that we would rather pay for the meal with a Disney gift card. We simply told the server at the restaurant what we wanted. Hubby was issued a refund on his credit card and we were able to pay using the gift card. This is a VERY common situation, particularly with guests who are on the Disney Dining Plan.

So yes, you can reserve your meals with one credit card and then actually pay at the restaurant by some other method, such as your Dining Plan credits. Just let your server know when you're being seated.
