Hi! I've booked Category 1 tickets for Mickey's Backyard BBQ on 12/17. I would love to know how early "early access to the backyard pavilion" is. Trying to plan our schedule and want to maximize our benefit. Thanks!

Howdy, Lauren! Mickey's Backyard BBQ is one Disney dining experience my daughters have been begging to do this past year. I think it may be high time for us to saddle up for some fun with Mickey and the gang!

While this has always been a very popular dining experience with Guests, the addition of "category" seating makes it even more appealing. Guests who have made an Advance Dining Reservation for Category 1 seating enjoy a front row view of all the fun and have some fantastic benefits, the best being the early access you mentioned! Lauren, I want you to make sure you arrive at the pavilion at least an hour early because, with your Category 1 tickets, your family will be able to enter the shindig to claim your favorite spot on a bench, start chowing down on some really scrumptious food, and (hold on to your hats for this one!) have a really cool meet and greet with the Disney characters schedule to be at the show that evening! Yeeha! Those benefits really make the upgrade to Category 1 sound amazing!

There are a few things I'd like to go over with you, Lauren, just to make sure your evening goes off without a hitch. As I mentioned, you will want to arrive a little more than an hour early for your show's scheduled start time. Dinner show tickets must be picked up in advance, up to seven days prior to the show. If you wait until the day of, please arrive at the Pavilion's Box Office at least 40 minutes in advance of when you plan to enter. You will want to schedule plenty of time to travel to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. For Guests' convenience, there is even a direct bus from Magic Kingdom Park to the pavilion area.

Well, Lauren, I hope you have a great time with Mickey and the gang! Please let us know if you have any further questions!
