Hi there, Mary Ann! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for stopping by with an excellent question regarding one of my favorite dishes at Walt Disney World Resort - Tonga Toast!
Visiting
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort on our day of arrival has become a bit of tradition for me and my family. As soon as we arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, we catch a ride over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for an early morning reservation at
Kona Cafe. There’s just something about enjoying a nice cup of Freshly Brewed Joffrey's Coffee Hawaiian Kona Maragogype Press Pot and watching the monorail zip by from our table. These are the memories that are brought up when I think of Kona Cafe and Tonga Toast!
It is true that there is a price difference between the Tonga Toast offered at Captain Cook’s versus the one at Kona Cafe. However, there are a few differences. First,
Captain Cook’s is a quick service dining location. While it may seem silly to say this, the table service ambience found at Kona Cafe is a large part of my affinity for it. I feel a lot less rushed when dining at Kona Cafe versus the fast-paced style in which Captain Cook’s is set-up. Food-wise, the Tonga Toast at Kona Cafe comes with a side of delicious strawberry compote and is slightly larger than the dish served at Captain Cook’s. However, I would have to say that you can't go wrong regardless of where you order this delectable dish!
I hope you enjoy dining at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort as much as I have during your upcoming vacation!
