Hi! I booked breakfast at Kona Cafe primarily to try Tonga toast. According to the menu it is $16. Capt Cook’s also has Tonga toast on their menu for $8.99. That’s a considerable price difference. Is it exactly the same at both locations? Ty. MaryAnn

Hi there, Mary Ann! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for stopping by with an excellent question regarding one of my favorite dishes at Walt Disney World Resort - Tonga Toast!

Visiting Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort on our day of arrival has become a bit of tradition for me and my family. As soon as we arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, we catch a ride over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for an early morning reservation at Kona Cafe. There’s just something about enjoying a nice cup of Freshly Brewed Joffrey's Coffee Hawaiian Kona Maragogype Press Pot and watching the monorail zip by from our table. These are the memories that are brought up when I think of Kona Cafe and Tonga Toast!

It is true that there is a price difference between the Tonga Toast offered at Captain Cook’s versus the one at Kona Cafe. However, there are a few differences. First, Captain Cook’s is a quick service dining location. While it may seem silly to say this, the table service ambience found at Kona Cafe is a large part of my affinity for it. I feel a lot less rushed when dining at Kona Cafe versus the fast-paced style in which Captain Cook’s is set-up. Food-wise, the Tonga Toast at Kona Cafe comes with a side of delicious strawberry compote and is slightly larger than the dish served at Captain Cook’s. However, I would have to say that you can't go wrong regardless of where you order this delectable dish!

I hope you enjoy dining at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort as much as I have during your upcoming vacation!
