    We have just booked a Backstage Safari for 8:30 in the AM. Will we be able to use the transportation system from the Caribbean Beach Hotel to arrive on time?

    There are WDW buses that run from the resorts to the theme parks quite early in the morning. Disney knows that many guests are up and need to get to early reservations at character meals or tours such as yours. I would stop at the guest services or concierge desk at your hotel the night before your tour, just to confirm the timing and make sure you know the best place to catch the bus (the Caribbean Beach Resort is quite large).
