Jason, isn't it magical when you have your
Disney Cruise Line vacation
Bibbidi Bobbidi Booked? Add yours is an
Alaskan cruise, and there is even more sparkle in the Fairy Godmother's wand. This adventure was my family's favorite vacation ever! We're still making core memories on other trips, but topping this one is no easy feat.
I was so excited when Disney Cruise Line brought everything I love about MagicBands at
Walt Disney World Resort to its ships at sea. With a
DisneyBand+, you can access your stateroom, link photos and make purchases on board. It's also waterproof, so you can splash in the pool or plunge down the
AquaDunk without having to stash it.
As you know, DisneyBand+ is available to ship within the U.S. But they are also
available for purchase in the gift shops once on board. On the
Disney Magic, I would check
Mickey's Mainsail on Deck 4. This shop carries Disney Cruise Line merchandise, including items exclusive to Alaskan itineraries. You may also find them at
Sea Treasures, my favorite stop for checking out cruise-exclusive Pandora and Alex & Ani jewelry. As with everything on a cruise ship (aside from breathtaking views and, somehow, it seems, ice cream), quantities are limited.
With the myriad of phones, watches and DisneyBands, you may want to pack a USB charging hub. Extension cords and power strips are
prohibited, but we pack a small multi-port USB hub so we can charge everything overnight.
One more tip: Disney brings in naturalists and other experts for lectures on many of the Alaskan cruises. While "lecture" and "vacation" are not commonly used in the same sentence, these are wonderful! I went to the first one alone, but when I shared what I learned, the whole family joined me for the others. We learned so much about the wonder that surrounded us, making spectacular views even more meaningful.
Jason, I hope your cruise is as magical as ours. If you have any other questions as you get ready for next summer, we're happy to see you at
planDisney!
SEAS the Adventure!
