If I book a vacation package with room and tickets and I am paying on the balance, but later decide to stay off resort can I cancel just the hotel part and keep my tickets package as planned?

Oh boy, Michael! Mickey and I are excited to hear you'll be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth soon. Thanks for writing to planDisney for help with your planning!

A Disney Resort Vacation Package has two core parts: your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room and your theme park tickets. Since these components must coexist, you cannot cancel just one of them. If you decide to stay off-property, you'll want to cancel your package by calling (407) 939-1936. Then you can go ahead and buy your tickets separately. If you purchase new tickets and link them by the end of that day to your My Disney Experience account, then your theme park reservations (if you've already made them) should remain in place.

For Vacation Packages, 30 days or more is required for a full refund. If you cancel within 2 to 29 days of your arrival date, there is a $200 penalty per room, plus any cancellation fees assessed by other suppliers. If you need to cancel your reservation one day prior to your arrival, the vacation package is non-refundable. You'll want to keep these dates in mind when planning your stay.

There's so much to see and do at Walt Disney World Resort, Michael, including the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! If there's anything else you need before your trip, we hope you stop by and see us real soon! Take care.
