If you book a suite, can you upgrade to concierge later?

Welcome to planDisney, Lisana! We’re so glad to have you on board!

Sailing with Disney Cruise Line is already an incredible experience, but if you’re considering Concierge Level… oh boy, you’re in for a real treat! A few years ago on the Disney Fantasy, I somehow managed to convince my husband to upgrade our Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah to a similar Concierge-level stateroom and let me tell you, we’ve never looked back. It was one of our favorite vacations ever!

Now, if you’ve booked a suite on Disney Cruise Line, you’re already set. Concierge service is automatically included, so there’s no need to upgrade separately. That means you’ll get all the amazing perks, like priority check-in, access to the Concierge Lounge, exclusive onboard events, and a dedicated team to help with anything you need throughout your cruise.

If you’re hoping to upgrade to Concierge after booking, it is possible, but it really depends on availability. If Concierge-level staterooms are still open, you can upgrade at any time before final payment. But if they’re fully booked (which happens often), you can request to be placed on the Concierge waitlist. If a stateroom opens up, Disney Cruise Line will contact you with upgrade options. Some guests have also been lucky enough to score a last-minute Concierge upgrade at the port for a discounted rate, but that’s never guaranteed and those rooms go fast!

One of the biggest perks of sailing Concierge is the early booking window for onboard activities, dining, and Port Adventures. Concierge Guests can book through the Shoreside Concierge Associate team 130 days before sailing, and online booking opens 123 days out. If you have your heart set on a special dining experience like Remy or Palo, or if you’re hoping to reserve one of the highly sought-after cabanas at Castaway Cay or Lighthouse Point, this early access can be a huge advantage.

But honestly, my personal favorite part of Concierge was the Concierge Lounge. Throughout the day, you’ll find light snacks, drinks, and in the evening, complimentary beer, wine, and cocktails. But the real magic? The Concierge Hosts. They are simply amazing. They get to know you and are always there to help with any requests, big or small. We loved having someone to turn to for anything we needed, and let’s just say, after experiencing it once, it’s really hard to go back!

I hope this helps as you decide what’s best for your cruise, Lisana! No matter what, I know you’re going to have an incredible, relaxing voyage. If you have any more questions, I’m happy to help!

    Bon voyage!
