I want to book a room w/ verandah on decks 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 on Fantasy for a 7 night Caribbean cruise. I have a child w/ mild autism age 11 who loves water slides & the pool and a 14 year old who loves the pool & the teen scene. Best room?

Welcome aboard, Robyn! Booking a Disney Cruise for the family is so exciting! Choosing your stateroom can be a great way to begin planning, and it sounds like you know what your kids are into, so let's try to come up with an area of the ship that will be close to it all!

My family's favorite place to sail, no matter which of Disney's ships we're on, is Deck 6 Midship. This area allows us to be close to the Midship elevators so we can get to any deck very easily. Plus, it's just one deck up from the Youth Clubs. Your 14-year old will only need to go down one deck and then forward to get to Vibe, while your 11-year old just needs to go down one deck right below you for all the fun in the Oceaneer Club and Lab. If your 11-year old prefers Edge, it's a bit more of a hike to Deck 13 Forward inside the funnel. If you think Edge and Vibe are where your children will go most, perhaps a Deck 6 Forward stateroom will be easier.

I still prefer Midship though, as it allows us to get anywhere on the ship easily. Even just a quick elevator ride up will take your family right to the pools and AquaDuck watercoaster, which I'm so glad to hear your 11-year old will love! It's one of my favorite things on the Fantasy! A simple walk down or elevator trip down will find you in the Atrium lobby, close to so many activities.

No matter which stateroom you choose, you're in for one amazing cruise, Robyn, but I always find Midship, Mid-level staterooms to be the most convenient. I hope that helps as you begin planning this trip! Please let me know if I can help with anything else as you count down to your sail date!
