If I book a reservation without adding a dining plan to it, and then Disney offers a free dining plan during the time of my vacation, can I add the dining plan at that time, or do I have to have it on my existing reservation to get it free? Thank you.

Hi, Lyn!  If the free dining plan comes out during the time you wish to travel, you will have to contact Walt Disney World reservations as soon as you can to see about adding the plan during your vacation.  Usually what has to happen is that they will re-book your reservation using the free dining plan package code, so as long as they resort and room type that you want is available, you'll be able to switch your room reservation to the dining plan package reservation.

If for some reason they do not have the resort or room type that you want, I have personal experience with awesome reservations agents that go above and beyond trying to find something as close to what you have already booked as possible.  But just to be on the safe side, as soon as you see an announcement that pertains to your vacation, call right away to change your reservation!

Fingers crossed that it works out for your trip!
