Hi Angela,
There is nothing better than planning a stay at a
Disney Resort hotel! I also love to plan my vacation for a date pretty far in the future so I have something exciting to look forward to. Unfortunately, sometimes life happens and we have to change those plans we have been looking forward to. Luckily, Disney World does its best to accommodate those changes and get you back to experience the magic. The cancellation policy will depend on whether you book a
Disney World Vacation Package or a Disney Resort hotel room-only reservation.
If you book a Disney Vacation Package that includes a resort hotel, tickets, and dining plan the
cancellation and change policy will depend on when you choose to make changes. For cancellations made 30 days or more before arrival, a full refund will be issued with a few exceptions for things like travel protection plans and runDisney race registrations which are non-refundable. For cancellations made 2 days to 29 days before arrival, you will be refunded minus a cancellation fee of $200 per package. Cancellations made 1 day or less before arrival are non-refundable.
You do have the option to change your dates but these will be subject to change fees and the modified price of your new dates. If you change your package dates 30 days or less before arrival, you will also be charged a $50 fee per package. Any change in your trip dates will result in you agreeing to new Terms and Conditions which may have a modified cancellation policy so be sure to check out the terms before you complete the process.
The current cancellation policy for a room-only reservation allows you to receive a full refund if you cancel at least 5 days before arrival. If you cancel between 1-4 days before arrival, you will forfeit the cost of one night of your booking. Policies are subject to change and will depend on when you make your booking. I recommend checking your confirmation email when you book to get the full details for your specific reservation. It will have details about when you need to cancel or make changes to receive a full refund.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
